Does Justice Have a Role at School ?, by Philippe Haeberli and François Audigier

Summary

People often talk about public school but was it not instituted in the interests of justice ? In order to study the various relationships between justice and school, we must first examine the different meanings of this interplay. Educational justice is first studied from many angles. The term “educational justice” can also be understood as the operating norm of an establishment as well as a reference for taking pedagogical action. Finally, justice is examined in light of participatory provisions of pupils in educational life. These provisions lend themselves particularly to implementing an curriculum based on law and values, which are essential components of any civic education programme.
