Globalisation and Individuality - Conditions for Reviving Development, by Samir Amin

Development is no longer on the agenda. Governments of western nations are mostly concerned with managing the crisis, those of the former Soviet bloc are anxious to make the transition to market capitalism whilst governments in South American, Africa and the Arab world are tackling their foreign debt service as a priority. Only the economic power houses of Asia continue to dedicate most of their time to sustaining economic growth.
