Globalisation and Collective Security – Gradual Building of Peace, Human Rights and the Media, by Maurice Bertrand

There is a close connection between the notion of war or peace and that of human rights. War is based upon the image of the enemy. The enemy is not considered as someone who must be respected. On the contrary, the enemy must be destroyed. This fundamental contradiction between the notion of the enemy and that of human rights must be brought to mind when we examine the ideological angles under which issues of security are presented by the media.
