Thématique N°5

Representations as Foundations for Human Rights Education, by Gérald Boutin and Véronique Truchot

Everyone is in support of integrity and no one would be opposed to schools aiming to teach peace and to train “good citizens.” But just what is a good citizen? Is it someone ready to commit themselves to a “just war” and die defending their country? Or is it someone doing their duty to exercise their right to vote or living peacefully beside their neighbours? Or perhaps, it involves each and every human being who is useful to others as well as themselves throughout their daily lives.
